Rosalind Y. Tompkins-Whiteside

Rosalind Y. Tompkins-Whiteside is the mother of Janar Shenale Tompkins and wife of Charles Jerome Whiteside. She is a recognized and honored poet with a compilation of her poems on the CDs Poems of Life & Poems of Life Volume 2, and the published author of the book, As Long As There Is Breath In Your Body, There Is Hope, and the author of the newly released, Rare Anointing.

Mrs. Tompkins-Whiteside graduated in 1987 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Social Work from Florida State University. Since then she has worked in the field of prevention, intervention, and treatment for over 18 years and is very involved in many community initiatives.

Mrs. Tompkins-Whiteside founded Mothers In Crisis, Inc. (a non-profit community-based grassroots organization comprised of women and men in recovery from drugs and alcohol), in April 1991, and she currently serves as executive director. She is also the founder of Turning Point International Church where she currently serves with her husband.

Because of Mrs. Tompkins-Whiteside's community service and compassionate heart, she was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to serve on the Commission for Volunteerism for the State of Florida in 2005.

Mrs. Tompkins-Whiteside has 12 years of personal experience with drug addiction and has over 19 years drug and alcohol free. She believes in empowering families who are in crisis to be all they can be. As Long As There Is Breath In Your Body, There Is HopeŽ is her official registered trademark with the U.S. Patent Office.
