Mr. Nicklaus has served as the President of 2-1-1 Big Bend, Inc. (formerly Telephone Counseling and
Referral Service) in Tallahassee, FL since 1985. He is responsible for the management and programs
of the agency. 2-1-1 Big Bend, with a budget of $1.3 million, operates Helpline 2-1-1 that provides
24/7 human service information and crisis hotline services for the eight-county Big Bend area. The
agency also operates statewide hotlines including the Florida HIV/AIDS Hotline, the Family Health Line,
and the Parent Help Line. The agency manages an extensive database of human service agencies and
programs and produces directory products in various formats for use by professionals and individual
consumers. Each year, more than 55,000 people call the agency's hotlines and more than 45,000 visitors
use the agency's free searchable online directory (www.211bigbend.org). 2-1-1 Big Bend is a charitable
501(c)(3) organization and receives funding from the United Way, local and state government, grants and
private donations.
