Miaisha Mitchell

M. Miaisha Mitchell currently serves as Director of the Diabetes and You Project, a Program of the Greater Frenchtown Area Governor's Revitalization Council and the Frenchtown Neighborhood Improvement Association, Inc.

In the Front Porch Florida she shares her experiences in education, community organizing and health care.

A native of Tallahassee, Miaisha is has a thirty-year background in: social work, mental health, hospital administration, and the public work of community organizing and problem solving. She has served on many boards, commissions and task forces that address issues related to women, family and youth. She is an independent consultant in education, management and health care related areas.

Miaisha is the mother of three children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and strongly agrees with the philosophy "it takes a village to raise a child".
