J. R. Richards

J.R. Richards is the CEO of the Bond Community Health Center, Inc. Originally from Barbados in the West Indies; Mr. Richards migrated to New York City at age 11. He has a B.A. in Professional Studies of Human Services from The College of Human Services where he graduated summa cum laude and a Masters in Public Health Administration from Long Island University in New York City where he graduated magna cum laude.

Mr. Richards has more than 18 years of administrative, management and supervisory experience in the health care industry. His successes in health care range from the implementation of several satellite sites to include school based health centers and public housing primary health care programs.

In addition, he piloted and implemented a young fathers program at a maternity shelter for pregnant teens in NYC and due to its success there are now four programs modeled after it. J.R. also worked as a health education consultant for the NYC Board of Education where he taught Human Sexuality at various high schools in Brooklyn New York.

It is his successes that brought him to Tallahassee Florida in February of 2003, where he has made a significant difference in the health services being provided at the Bond Community Health Center on the Southside of Tallahassee.

He holds several memberships to include: the Florida Association of Community Health Centers (FACHC), the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), United Who's Who of Executives and Professionals, the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), the American Public Health Association (APHA), the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE), the Community Health Center Alliance (CHCA).
