Early Intervention /Orientation & Mobility Specialist
The for People Who Are Visually Impaired or Blind is hiring an Early Intervention /Orientation &
Mobility Specialist. This full-time position has a salary of $35,000 with excellent health &
retirement benefits. The position will provide approximately 20 hours/week early childhood
intervention services, working with families of children from newborn to age 5 who are blind or
visually impaired, and will also provide approximately 20 hours per week orientation and mobility
services to transition and college students. Services are primarily provided in the home and at
schools in the eleven counties of the Big Bend.
Applicants must have a relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferred in Visual Disabilities;
certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, and/or eligible for certification; certification
in Orientation & Mobility instruction, and/or eligible for certification.
