Samuel M. Streit

Samuel M. "Buddy" Streit is an attorney with a background in legal advocacy, business development and management, program and policy development, research and writing, and private and public sector leadership with education and youth programs across the country. Since 2001, Streit has served as the President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Bend. Over the past dozen years, Streit has led and represented a number of leading private companies and organizations, primarily in the development and operation of education and other programming for children and youth.

Among his experiences, he has served as the Brown Schools Senior Vice President for Development and CEO of the Public Education Group, as the Assistant Secretary for Children, Youth and Families in the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, as Superintendent of the Eckerd Youth Development Center, as an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Social Work, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and as a faculty member of UNC's Bush Institute for Child and Family Policy, and as the Executive Director of two statewide child advocacy organizations.

Streit received his bachelors and law degrees with honors from the University of Florida. He is a licensed member of the Florida and North Carolina bars, and he has practiced law in both states.
